Study of life, Astronomy. 20% project, week six

This week I’m working on building my trifold and making my script, I did a theme were it makes it look like your on the I.S.S. I made a bunch of aliens, I also included Kirby because I think he’s my favorite alien character. On my script, I decided to not only talk about my part of it, But also share information about the topic, Because my main goal was to teach the classroom about it. I also decided to add the aliens saying funny little sentences, the title, And a flying saucer, because that’s what always comes into people’s minds when you think of a UFO. The thing I learned about myself was kind of hard. But I would say I leaned off until the last second. I made on of my struggles trying to find something that was not click bait, that was a very hard struggle.

My 3 favorite memories.

So, this might sound weird to be one favorite memories, But at the beginning of my my journey at this school, like last year, we still had the mask rule. So- The very first ever day of my experience at this school, there was a protest. So while they were chanting to take the masks off, the school decided to get a big roll speaker out and just ignore them. They just starting blasting a bunch of cheesy songs at protesters. It was chaotic and fun. Some kids were even dancing in front of them.

Another favorite memory at this school was when I was staying after school for math, the year book was looking for students to take a photo shoot with them. It was a set up, but it was the old vice principal on one side, and some other kids and my two other friends on one side of this giant rope. It was suppose to look like we were playing tug of war, but we were all just faking it. At least, for a bit.. So, out of nowhere, A kid screams “Tug him into the mud!” At first, I didn’t see it. Then, There’s was this huge chunk, I would say, a perfect moisture mud spot. So, we thought it was perfectly appropriate to actually start tugging him into the mud. As he’s trying to tug away, but failing, The photographer girl was laughing so hard, Not even helping him. So, at the end he was covered in mud, But I’m forgetting to add one little detail.. HE WAS WEARING FANCY CLOTHES, A nice tie, Nice leather shoes, And.. a fancy collared shirt. And, best part of all, He had an important meeting in two minutes. Also, he said the next day we caused a permanent mud spot on his tie.

My last favorite memory happened a few days ago, and it’s only a few sentences long. We did a Kahoot about the renaissance, I’m not going to say his name. But, he was so close to getting third place, ( he ended up actually getting it, but he didn’t know at the time) Time was starting to disappear, and he went from 22nd to 4th, It was almost the end, And he got the question wrong, He screamed in rage and ended up falling backwards in his chair. It was hilarious. He ended up laughing too.

Thanks for listening.

What truly is happiness?

As soon as I see this photo, It makes me both happy and mad. I also honestly think the photo is a pure example of be grateful for what you have. That one kid is crying and they have all these cool toys, even a remote control car, But with the other kid, He has 1 rickety little wood car that you have to push, and, it probably won’t last that long. Now, compares to these two kids, which one would you expect to enjoy themselves more? Now, this is tricky. But it’s the kid with less toys. Because they’re enjoying what they don’t get often. Now, this photo made me happy because this kid who doesn’t get a lot it enjoying himself, But this made me mad because the other kid was complaining when he had all the toys. It just gave me this weird feeling of hatred. I don’t really know why, It was just.. Ehh?

Rad reading- April

Scythe

by Neal Shusterman

This month I read a book called scythe, It’s about in the future, There’s no more: War, Death, Disease, and violence. So to keep the population at bay, They have people called “Scythes” To “Glean” (100% kill) people. Citra and Rowan were selected to become a scythes apprentice. During their apprenticeship, they learn more and more about scythes, Like how some of them use painless glean methods, While others will use fire, Bombs, And killing of mass crowds, They start to figure out how truly corrupted this new and “happy” world can be…

All in all, I love this book, Like, A lot. It has tons of twist, turns, And drama. But, I’m just going to give a little warning, It’s not for all people. Is uses profanity, Words some people may not understand if you have a lower reading level, and your probably going to need a book mark, The ONE time I forgot my spot in the book, It was a nightmare to find the spot I was in, And yet I was off by a little. My favorite character is probably scythe faraday, Because of his stern yet gentle attitude. A quote that proves that is on Pg.117 Citra tried to look at something important of his, and ended up getting extreme frost bite (that would heal in the morning). This is what he said afterwards “You misunderstand. This is not a punishment. Curiosity is in the human; I merely allowed you to get it out of your system. I have to say it took you long enough.” he then later explained it was just a test

My favorite quote of the book is one Pg.123, She grinned “ Yeah. I”ll sure be sick of you then.” I like this quote because not only does it start to kindle there friendship, But also the fun and sarcastic was Citra talks.

Study of life, Astronomy= Week #5

Today, I started to work on my final Canva project, it’s just a draft, But I think it’s going along well. I wanted it to look interesting yet beautiful at the same time. So, I think I’m going to make it look like whales are in space for the into page (Trust the process) I’m also going to add a bar in the middle that says, “study of life” To make it look fAnCy and SeroUs. I also have a lot of planets out, But I think I’m going to make it look like a letter, and some planets as stickers, and on the envelope, it says “study of life.” One thing I definitely don’t want to add is one of those weird looking alien looking things that look like upside down raindrops. I always thought those were cliche and used in lots of fake movies about aliens that are not true. Some issues I had were trying to find designs.

A good neighbor?

Now, I have some experience with bad neighbors. They would party really late, and across the street they neighbors would get toilet papered a lot. And at first, it was hilarious, but now, I’m starting to think maybe it’s a little annoying… Also, there was a “problem” In our neighborhood. And someone a few houses down were in a lot of stress. We wanted to help, but we never really took the time to talk to them. So, we didn’t really know what to do and felt kind of bad. So, I think, that being a good neighbor means, to get to know them, and respect that they live right next to you, so don’t but on jamming music at twelve at night.

Study of life, Astronomy= 20% project, week #4

I was suppose to talk to my mentor today, But couldn’t, so I decided to read some more articles, and hopefully find some more information about are planets. Like titan, Which is Saturns largest moon. I heard lots of theory’s on how life can be on this planet, because it has ice on it, Which could potentially be liquid water. It also has atmosphere with thick nutritious compounds. The only probably is that it’s currently around -180c, so there’s a very small chance of water being on it. But, There could have been life on it a while ago. In the article of ESA (European Space Industry) “Titan’s surface is -180°C. According to one exotic theory, long ago, the impact of a meteorite, for example, might have provided enough heat to liquify water for perhaps a few hundred or thousand years.” But, another weird thing that makes this planet a mystery is, How is the atmosphere thick on this planet? The only way for it to be thick is if, The sun ecould destroy and break apart methane, but, How does methane even get into the atmosphere, You need life to have methane, Unless, It was coming from the core of the planet, So maybe, Could life possibly be on the core of titan? And that, Still remains a mystery.

Study of life, Astronomy=20% Project week three

This week my goal was to take some time to learn more about planets, I had a hard time trying to find a different article. But, I found one on this article that was made by the university of Chicago, on life on other planets. They were talking about how the there was a color change on mars, Kind of like when we look at the news forecast and it will maybe show some water that moved in a Timelapse, This could show that there is a very slight chance that water could have been there and could have moved, If the color change was real. Maybe some of the software made a mistake, But if It didn’t, This could signal that there could be plants that adapted to the harsh conditions of mars, Not intelligent life, but still life. But they also talked about life on mercury, Which I haven’t really heard of the possibility of life there before, But they talked about how it’s not to fair from the sun, And the atmosphere is so-so, Which brings up the thought, Could mercury have or have once had life, or, is it about to start having life on it?

Study of life, Astronomy=20% Project, week two

This week I decided to look at some articles, which were quite handing them trying to fading threw YouTube and trying to find out which ones were click bait and which ones are not. So far I have found out some interesting things about life on other planets, And they have found lots of new places were life can work out, But there is a specific planet that has stuck out to all the rest, Kepler 22b. Which is like earth, But 2.4x Bigger, Isn’t that insane? The only problem, is that it’s 587.1 light years away. We will probably need lots more evolving in are science before we can take people there. But there were some struggles, Like sometimes I would click onto a new article, And it would bring me back, or into a different page. Also, With most people at my table doing project that were working together, or were hand crafting somthing, They usually talked a lot. I wanted to talk to, But I decided to listen to music to avoid talking, And it worked.

Study of life, Astronomy=20% Project, Week 1.

Week one, I’m currently learning about the possibility of life on other planets. Even though I am already educated on the subject from when I went to the Griffith park observatory. I tried refreshing my memory by researching the subject more. So I watched this video about how planets can die, And that no matter what there is or has been life in the universe. Because, when planets form, By debris and rocks in space, It’s not like it’s either habitable or not habitable. And it’s not like the planets going to last forever. You see, You need these three things for life, food, energy, And most important, water. But You need water in liquid form and ice form. So what’s the big deal you may ask? Water is a key part of life, and without those specific forms it has to be in, life cannot exist. Even mars has once had water, Which makes lots of people curious, Could there have actually been life on mars?
